King of the Hill FOX 8:30 pm ET
Luanne, your dad's a jackass. Johnny Knoxville lends his voice to Hoyt, estranged father of Luanne and brother of Peggy. He's a felon with two strikes against him when he shows up in Arlen, which means if he commits another crime, he's going away for good. And guess what. To spare Luanne the loss of her father a second time, her husband, Lucky (voice of Tom Petty), takes the rap in "Life: A Loser's Manual."

The Simpsons Movie HBOE 9:00 pm ET
Homer, Bart and their Springfield neighbors and relatives hit the big screen in 2007 in this spinoff of cartoonist Matt Groening's long-running Fox series. An environmental crisis is traced to Homer (voice of Dan Castellaneta), who becomes Public Enemy No. 1 -- forcing him to find a way to make things right. Julie Kavner, Yeardley Smith and Nancy Cartwright also reprise their television voice roles.

Tennis NBC 9:00 am ET
The Championships, as they are so elegantly referred to, come to a close with the men's singles final, and possibly a history-making moment from the great Roger Federer. The Swiss star has owned Centre Court at Wimbledon since 2003, winning the first of his five straight titles to tie Bjorn Borg's consecutive-title record, but he's looked a bit mortal of late. Could he muster the six wins needed to get back here to try to further cement his legend?

Freedom Writers SHO 7:00 pm ET
Yes, it's another "teacher reaches the hearts and minds of troubled students" movie, but it has Hilary Swank, which makes it a step up from "The Substitute." Swank stars as Erin Gruwell, the real teacher on which this 2007 film is based. Patrick Dempsey, Imelda Staunton, Mario, Vanetta Smith and Hunter Parrish also star.

Everybody Hates Chris CW 8:00 pm ET
Bad boy, bad boy, whatcha gonna do? Chris (Tyler James Williams) decides it's "no more Mr. Nice Guy" time when he finds out Tasha (Paige Hurd) has a thing for "bad boys." His dad (Terry Crews), meanwhile, has been a good guy at work -- so good that he's named employee of the month and wins a dinner at a fancy eatery. There are lots of strings attached, though, and we're not talking about spaghetti.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition ABC 8:00 pm ET
Get out your handkerchiefs for this poignant two-hour episode in which Ty Pennington and his team build a new home for U.S. Marine Daniel Gilyeat, who suffered major injuries and lost his left leg when his truck was bombed during his second tour of duty in Iraq. His current home isn't handicapped-accessible, but the team takes care of that while the Gilyeats are treated to a vacation that includes a meeting with "Hannah Montana" star Miley Cyrus.

The Birdcage AMC 8:00 pm ET
When Robin Williams and Nathan Lane team up as Armand and Albert, a gay couple playing it straight, nobody can keep a straight face. Unwilling to make himself scarce when Armand's son brings his fiancee's ultraconservative parents over for dinner, Albert dons his most divine drag duds to pose as Mom. Gene Hackman, Dianne Wiest, Hank Azaria and Calista Flockhart also star in this delightful 1996 adaptation of "La Cage aux Folles."

Cold Case CBS 9:00 pm ET
This episode upset some viewers, who took issue with its portrayal of the devoutly religious. But it's not bashing religion -- just those adherents who somehow missed the "thou shalt not kill" lesson. Rush (Kathryn Morris) and her team reopen the 1998 beating death of a teenage girl who had a reputation for promiscuity. Their investigation leads them to a teen abstinence club with a whole lot of dirty little secrets. Mackenzie Phillips guest stars.

American Dad FOX 9:30 pm ET
This weak "Family Guy" clone has never been the funniest show on television, but this episode adds a head-scratching element to the usual yawn-fest. Doesn't Stan work for the CIA? So what is he doing sending cattle to slaughter? Diseased cattle, at that. Apparently it was a project to make a man out of his son. OK, that explains everything ... not.
-
Desperate Housewives ABC 10:00 pm ET
Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira) is cheating on girlfriend Edie (Nicollette Sheridan) with estranged wife Gabrielle (Eva Longoria Parker) ... when they run into gardener John (Jesse Metcalfe), with whom Gabby used to cheat on Carlos and who wants to cheat on his new wife with Gabby. Confused yet? And we haven't even gotten to the other plot points in this episode: conflicts over a yard sculpture and Bree's (Marcia Cross) unborn grandchild. Get a score card.
